1. Pink Well Challenge Finalist Profile: Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink (TETWP)

Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink (TETWP) is a 501-C3 and a completely volunteer organization.  Our mission is dedicated to providing local funding for breast cancer awareness, education, mammograms, support and further diagnosis. In addition, TETWP has established Friends of Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink to provide financial support for breast cancer patients by assisting with non-medical expenses.  All the funds raised stay within the community to support and eliminate the financial burden of men and women in need.

Cattlemen’s Days Tough Enough to Wear Pink’s greatest accomplishment is the bringing together of this small community to raise over $644,500. Because of this we have distributed over $267,228 to the community: 370 mammograms and ultrasounds, 27 biopsies, supported 5 families of breast cancer survivors by assisting with their expenses and donated $100,000 to the local hospital (GVH) enabling the purchase of digital mammography.

Cattlemen’s Days TETWP continues our drive to solidify and endow our program as an organization that remains committed to eliminating the tremendous financial burden imposed on neighbors by this insidious disease.

Cattlemen’s Days TETWP has already identified our challenge and the funds will go toward the endowment for medical and non-medical expenses (see #1-mission statement) to continue supporting our community and saving the lives of men, women, daughters and granddaughters.

We are a community of 5520 people who has raised over $644,500 in six years to help our residents face economic difficulty by offering financial help for mammograms and other diagnostic testing.  A major success within this is our donation of $100,000 to our hospital to help them purchase a digital mammography machine.
